In Pursuit of Knowledge
I graduated with a double major in International Business Administration and International Economics from the American University of Paris, then pursued a Diplôme D’études Françaises from Université De Strasbourg. The interesting part was when I ventured into a Master of Science in Innovation, Strategy and Entrepreneurship from Grenoble Graduate School of Business. It was in those classrooms that my understanding of innovation took a whole new meaning, one backed with both deep theories and practical experiences.
Business is Logic
Back in 2001, I managed a family business throughout high school that went bankrupt. Saudi Education Center was one of the leading educational content providers throughout the 90s, and the coolest part was that we had almost all the Arabic dubbed cartoon distribution rights. The reason it failed is plain and simple, we couldn't adjust to new technologies and shifts in the market landscape. And thus became a victim of disruptive innovation.

I’m A Rocket Man
KACST’s Badir Program for Technology Incubators was by far the ignition/inception point of the KSA’s entrepreneurship ecosystem. From becoming the largest regional incubators to breaking the VC investment barrier of 1M $, we have impacted most of the pioneering Saudi tech startups. I was both a Senior Business Advisor and Head of Bootcamps and Accelerators in the Western region, and man were those some golden days. We learned from those entrepreneurs more than what we gave.

Unlocking the Passion
This is where I applied myself, put both my knowledge and imagination into practice. What started as a one slider and drawing, turned into an unforgettable experience. GearUp was a Abdul Latif Jameel’s retail accessories brand built on lifestyles and passion, a hybrid business model that made it all the way from an idea to a fully mature (full throttle) business (venture) and kick-ass showroom.

Climbing Mount Everest
An opportunity presented itself. To segway into corporate innovation in the financial sector, the Mount Everest of all challenges and I knew that if I climb this one then i climb any mountain after. And that’s how I became a Senior Innovation Manager at Al Rajhi Bank and established ARB’s Innovation Center. Then Head of Digital Innovation at Riyad Bank, at the forefront of market disruption and cultural transformation.

Building a Future
Today, I choose to be a voice of practical knowledge for anyone who aspires to build his own innovation journey. And I created this publication platform as a means to amplify my voice for those who dare to listen. I’m married to the beautiful Najia and father of a princess called Laila. I enjoy a multitude of hobbies including snowboarding, boxing, building robots, and most importantly poetry.
